OB/GYNs offering next-day availability at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center–Walworth

Choosing an OB/GYN is a personal decision. You will want to choose an OB/GYN you can connect with and trust sharing personal information with. Whether this is your first visit to a gynecologist, you’re planning to start a family or you’re entering menopause, Mercyhealth’s team of women’s health specialists are here for you every step of the way.

Our board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) are sensitive to a woman’s needs and the care they require to live a healthy, balanced life.

“The interaction I prefer to have with patients is that of a negotiation, instead of a lecture. I want patients to communicate with me what it is they want, and what they prefer” said Dr. William Leach, Mercyhealth OB/GYN. “I strive to use the best available medical evidence and the most up-to-date tools and techniques in order to provide my patients with the best possible outcomes.”

All the health services women need

At Mercyhealth we offer preventive care, birth control options, pregnancy care, breast health and more.

Preventive care

Regular visits with your OB/GYN can help you maintain a healthy, active life. Your provider will perform health screenings like blood pressure and cholesterol, breast and pelvic exams, help you stay up-to-date on your immunizations and much more. Even if you have a primary care doctor, you can see a Mercyhealth OB/GYN for routine care like well-woman exams and Pap tests, if you prefer.

“I listen carefully to my patients and respect their unique goals, priorities and choices. Patient education is a cornerstone of my practice. I am passionate about helping patients understand their conditions so we can work together in partnership to achieve the best care,” said Dr. MaryBeth Anderson, Mercyhealth OB/GYN.

Birth control

There are more safe and effective birth control options available now than ever before. Our doctors can offer their expert advice to help you choose the birth control method that’s right for you. We offer pills, implants, IUDs and many more contraceptive options. Talk with one of our doctors to discuss each of these more in-depth.

“There’s a large number of products available that have different benefits and risks; that’s why it’s good to come in and talk about it, because not every option is for every woman,” Dr. Leach said.

Pregnancy care

Our experienced OB/GYNs guide women through all stages of their pregnancy. They care deeply about their patients and their babies.

At Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center-Walworth, we offer a state-of-the-art birthing center. Should you or your baby encounter problems, we have highly trained specialists and a neonatal intensive care unit at Mercyhealth’s Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside to give your baby the best start in life.

“When I’m taking care of a mom that just had her first baby, there’s just nothing better than seeing the look on mom and dad’s face when they first meet their baby. It’s cool. Very few people get to be there for that special moment,” said Dr. MaryBeth Anderson, Mercyhealth OB/GYN.

Breast health

We offer routine mammograms, as well as a full range of breast health services. Our certified technologists are equipped to perform screenings and diagnostic tests using the latest technology.

Gynecologic and bladder treatments

Our specialists help women suffering from complex pelvic floor issues. We treat conditions such as pelvic pain, abnormal menstrual bleeding and urinary incontinence.

“We offer a wide range of women’s health treatment options, some of which are medical, while others are surgical. Each of these have their benefits and risks which is why it’s good to come in and talk about it because not every option is for every woman,” said Dr. William Leach, Mercyhealth OB/GYN.

Menopause care

Hot flashes and hormone changes can have a significant impact on a woman’s life. We provide hormone replacement therapy and other menopause services to help women navigate this stage.

“I am committed to delivering outstanding women’s health care from adolescence to menopause. It’s my mission to serve the women of our community with the latest in advanced skills and training along with a degree of compassion and clinical competence” said Dr. Silvia M. Villegas Van der Linde, Mercyhealth OB/GYN.

Family planning

Our doctors are a great resource when you’re looking to start or grow a family. We provide infertility consultations and help you understand when you’ll have the best chance of conceiving. We also provide many birth control choices including oral contraceptives, contraceptive implants and IUDs.

“Dr. Leach walked in and he was instantly funny… it put me at ease. He sat down to talk to me and it kind of opened the field for an open conversation which made me also very relaxed,” said Emily, a patient of Dr. Leach.

Gynecologic surgeries and procedures

Our surgeons perform many gynecologic procedures, including hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, tubal ligation and pelvic floor surgery.
