Philosophy of care

In my experience of taking care of patients and their families, I have found that taking time to educate them on a particular disease process, which includes guiding them through making a treatment plan incorporating their own values and aims, is important and appreciated. I ensure the patient as a whole is valued and respected. This means taking time to clearly communicate important information regarding a disease process, treatment options including a procedure or none, a procedure's indications, risks, benefits, and finally, being readily available both in and out of the office.
