Philosophy of care

EMS is an extension of the hospital system. It's often the first seconds and minutes that truly matter in our patients' outcomes. MD-1 brings cutting-edge care and technology to our patients in the field. It provides aggressive, hands-on medical direction with ‚¬Ëœout of the box' thinking. Our EMS physicians provide additional resources that allow the prehospital providers under our medical control to excel and raise the bar, as they care for critically ill and injured patients in our community. Since 2000, I have also served as a flight physician and medical director in critical care transport. I am proud to serve as the medical director for REACT and guide our crews as they transport critically ill and injured patients throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
