The FDA-approved Anodyne Therapy system uses infrared light to stimulate a temporary increase in local blood circulation. Therapy is delivered through therapeutic pads containing several infrared light sources that are applied to the treatment area delivering therapeutic benefits such as temporary reduction in pain, muscle spasm and increased circulation. The infrared energy stimulates the release of nitric oxide from hemoglobin in the blood resulting in vasodilatation and improved circulation to the treatment area.
Anodyne Therapy has improved abilities for patients with:
Carpal tunnel/tarsal tunnel
Degenerative disc disease
Anodyne Therapy is available to qualifying Mercy Home Health Care patients. If not a current Mercy Home Health Care patient, call Mercy Walworth Hospital and Medical Center, (262) 245-4635, for information on receiving treatment in a clinical setting.
